Joyce’s Message

With the decrease in inventory, prices are rising.  Buyers, please don’t wait until you are priced out of the market.  Call me for current, up to date information.  Rentals are brisk this summer but please, don't forget we rent properties year round and Spring & Fall are great here.  Please, whatever you do, don’t book your vacation with VRBO or other sites that take all the choices out of the owners’ hands and charge renters huge fees.  Check out this local rental site: or other local sites to book your vacation.

OWA - The Poach Band of Creek Indians with the City of Foley have formed a joint venture for OWA, which features 21 rides, Groovy Goat Restaurant, Paula Deen's Restaurant, Trattoria Pizza, Crazy Donuts, Auntie Anne's, Cinnibon & Hershey Ice Cream Parlor.  Also, in the park is the Marriott Towne Place Suites.  More stores, restaurants & features will be added in the future. Concert stage show. Website:

New Convention Center in Gulf Shores  - The long awaited rebuild of the State Park's Convention Center is finally open.  The Lodge, a Hilton Hotel, offers over 40,000 sq ft of flexible indoor/outdoor meeting space including The Gulfview Ballroom. Dining includes Foodcraft, featuring local farmers' & fishermen's bounties; Perch, a refined dining experience for dinners only; and Roasted Oak Coffee & Wine Bar

Tanger Outlet Mall - lots of stores for everyone is located in Foley

Misc Info

Three new snorkeling reefs are currently being built about 300' off Orange Beach shoreline and will be a great place to practice this sport.

 Locals Only

Gulf Shores has broken away from the Baldwin County School System and formed their own system. Orange Beach & Ft Morgan areas will remain with the Baldwin County Public Schools. Orange Beach has just opened a new middle & high schools on Canal Rd where the old sewer plant was located.

Finally Canal Rd in Orange Beach from the bridge at The Wharf to Hwy 161 has been widened to 2 lanes in each direction.  This should help with the traffic jams after all the paving if finished.

2020 has been a very unusual year.  Dispite the virus the summer rental season was very busy.  And then came SALLY.  This hurricane did quite a bit of damage to our area but with the work of many, many people we will return to even bigger and better.  Please remember to support the local businesses in their recovery.

Things to Do

As things get back to a more normal concerts & other events will be added but this town is definately open for business so COME ON DOWN!!

There is lots more to do.  Go to the website for more ideas
